Suzanne Kasler

Suzanne Kasler is one of my favorite designers.  Her vision for neutral tones, accented with hints of color is why I'm so drawn to her work.
Below are some beautiful examples:

When I look at this room I think of sophisticated and clean.  I love how all her rooms exemplify that less is more is always better!

That orange chair coupled with those flowers and twigs are gorgeous!!

If I can name one thing that makes me happy... it would be light fixtures like these:

I love the words of Suzanne, "I like rooms that have a kind of integrity.  Everything in them seems to belong.  There is nothing extraneous.  When I walk into a room, I want it to feel clear and clean.  Always, at the back of my head, I hear the words 'Less is more'."

Have a wonderful week!!

Barnes & Noble Night!

One of my favorite dates with my husband is going to the book store to devour all the magazines.  We both grab at least ten magazines, then we sit down with our favorite drinks and show each other 'eye catching' pictures of things we love.  Here are some random pictures that stood out to me:

I could not help but notice these adorable light shades made out of old sweaters, they are so charming!

Such a creative room; this coffee table is a shortened galvanized metal counter.

I loved this pictures because I have the same light fixture in my entry way!

Rescue and Revival

One thing I have always been obsessed with is reclaimed wood!
My dream would be to build a home with reclaimed wood timbers and flooring throughout, creating an authentic vintage look.
Here are some beautiful pictures of rooms exemplifying a natural, light and relaxed timeless look:

I love the imagination and courage it takes to renovate these beautiful Provencal homes.  This particular home contained some beautiful well kept secrets.  While renovating they notice that the previous owner who had built the home in 1850 was a man of some means.  Wonderfully distressed beams, grand fireplaces and intricate stone work was revealed.

These soft and simple rooms have so much character with their beautiful terra cotta flooring and exposed stone walls.  Notice the beautiful light fixtures that pop next to the vintage elements!

This home is called Aramis, it was built as a hunting-lodge in Perigord, south-west France.  I love this home so much that I designed my own home after it, staining my doors soft gray/blues with diamond pediments.

I love how the designers respected the original material and finishes of these rooms.  They created a charming look combining both past and present... my favorite look!

Have a wonderful weekend!
